A lot of times I have seen people get scared, embarrassed or go through
depression because they are/got pregnant before or outside marriage. Some even
resort to abortions or giving the child away in illegal and sometimes inhumane
ways in order to void being condemned. Many are often concerned about the possible spiritual implications as
well as the impression it passes across about their personalities to observers.
We do live in a world where everyone likes to judge so I will see why
anyone would feel as such, however I would as well like to let you know you actually do have a reason to be sober if you're pregnant and worried about the spiritual
implications but it's not because you're pregnant, it is more because you have
committed the sin of "fornication".
Pregnancy before marriage is not a sin (we would recall that Mary the
mother of Jesus was pregnant while getting married although She was a virgin),
however sex before or outside marriage is a sin. The Holy books make us
understand that fornication and adultery are unholy acts as well as a lot of
other unacceptable practices listed in them, remember no sin is greater or
lesser than the other in the eyes of God. Hence the need to ask for forgiveness
of sins regularly.
In the Christian-dom I have noticed that some Churches may reject you from getting married mainly because of the pregnancy status, but then God is always receptive of a repentant sinner or backslider through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. The major weddings I know of in the Bible are weddings according to family rights and also according to the laws of the land. There are probably a lot of fornication based marriages they may not be aware of as well. I think a lot of people have misconceptions when it comes to white weddings. According to wikipedia, a white wedding is a traditional formal or semi-formal wedding originating in Britain- We will discuss this another time.
The Holy books advises us to avoid all forms of sin and immorality and keep our hearts and souls pure at all times and we should let this guide our daily lives, however if you find yourself falling into temptations, be sure to ask for forgiveness of sins and avoid the sin of hypocrisy.
