Sensational singer Simi and Nigerian rapper Falz the Bahd Guy are famous for their romantic teases and pre-wedding shoot themed photos on social media, not to talk of the "Chemistry" the duo unleashed at the recently concluded Industry Nite event which held at Spice Route.
Falz and Simi finally released their much anticipated collaboration EP, titled "Chemistry." The album consists of seven (7) tracks which have been topping charts and receiving massive airplay since release. Here's a summarized but solid review by Adedotun, my lil' brother(whose musical knowledge is quite profound, I assure you). This is especially for those who haven't heard the EP yet. So I'll let him take it from here.

Okay, straight into it. The album has a lot of indigenous, satirical content. It is filled with boyfriend\girlfriend drama (and pipu like that kind of stuvvs) and a little groove too (and who doesn't like to 'parry,' hmm?)... And they did it so well. Here are the tracks in their order as on the EP:

Okay, straight into it. The album has a lot of indigenous, satirical content. It is filled with boyfriend\girlfriend drama (and pipu like that kind of stuvvs) and a little groove too (and who doesn't like to 'parry,' hmm?)... And they did it so well. Here are the tracks in their order as on the EP:
- "Foreign;" A lively intro filled with humour. The concept here was that they were both 'fronting' as people who traveled out a lot. Groovy, somewhat recurring afro beat. Here are some lines: FALZ: "I get to fly into London town today\ On the way, maybe I would just branch UK..." SIMI: "I want to go to Europe, if I see say no go-slow..." Now we can all agree that they both need cane.
- "Want to;" The duo gave us a surprise and switched up their styles a little; Simi raps -you read that right- and Falz sings... with a little tuning but who cares, Falz actually sings! They nailed it. Everything Simi touched here was gold... Beat had that slow trap bounce to it. Too sleek.
- "Show You Pepper;" Song is as saucy as its title. Falz is a legend for this. And that Simi can blend her voice into anything. She can blend her voice with tatashe and ata-rodo(because her mouth is 'sharp' like that lol). She even went and sampled Father U-Turn a little. I like this song. When you are fighting with bae, this should be the theme song.
- "Cinderella;" This is a neat, 'danceable' afro tune. Falz's starting was on dot. Not bad.
- "Chemistry;" Star track of the EP. Everybody knows this one. If you don't, you're on a long thing. Here Falz uses more of clean English and less of his signature accent, which is good. Simi was dreamy. We all love it. Personally I kinda maybe really do like it. Lol. Leave me alone.
- "Shake Your Body;" Okaaayyy. This song is from Heaven. Definitely my favorite on the whole EP. Beat is straight-up 'ibile.' Falz's rap here was the sweetest throughout the whole album. I live for it. Simi brought that fluid Adekunke Gold rhythm, only better... *tongue out*... Don't ask how good the song is, jozz goan hear it abeg. It bursts my brain like migraine. I won't even quote any lyrics here. I'll let you find out.
- "Enough;" SIMI: "Make you no vex say I talk say 'your father' / Na play I dey play, oya fa mi mo'ra..." Standard chorus here. Symplysimi simply slays on her verse, fusing Yoruba with Pidgin with even Indian-Arab-ish rhythm. Me I always knew that geh was a water spirit. FalzTheBahdGuy comes through and drops a lengthy, storytelling verse with finesse. Enough said. Strong finish.
